The ideal candidate is a motivated and dedicated self-starter with a natural drive towards customer service, seeking an opportunity to expand their knowledge and gain experience in a multi-faceted hospitality environment. We are seeking an energetic and out-going individual with a friendly demeanor for a fast paced customer service position requiring a strong attention to detail and the ability to multi-task.
Under the supervision of the Hotel Manager & General Manager, Our 25-room golf resort hotel needs a Hotel Front Desk Clerk. We’re looking for a friendly individual who genuinely enjoys being around people and who can manage multiple tasks at once. The ideal candidate will have previous customer service experience and will understand the importance of responding quickly to guests’ needs and concerns to ensure an enjoyable experience for all of the Resort’s guests. You’ll be corresponding with guests through email, over the phone and in person. If you’ve worked in the hospitality industry before, we definitely want to talk to you. However, we’re willing to train the right applicant.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & TRAINING
Prior experience and/or general knowledge of the game of golf is a plus. TIPS or TAMS certification also is a plus. Must be reliable and trustworthy. Must be 18 years of age or older.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES •Using oral and written communication skills to register and accommodate guests • Managing guest service requests • Processing cash or credit card payments • Maintaining updated information on room availability, reservations and guest messages • Understanding how to use hotel Property Management Software (PMS) systems
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Answer the phone at the front desk to respond to current and prospective guests’ needs • Book reservations for individuals, families and groups as required • Greet walk-in guests and guests with reservations when they arrive at the front desk
Schedule special services, such as golf rounds, when guests inquire • process check-ins/check-outs • processing payment transactions • Refer guests to local amenities and venues • Communicate guests’ requests or concerns to the appropriate department • regular cleaning to maintain the common areas of the resort • Maintain daily records and reports • Remain courteous with patrons at all times • Perform all job tasks within the rules and guidelines of the Resort • Work as a team player with co-workers and in conjunction with other departments
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Talking/Hearing: to communicate with public and staff Sitting: at the front desk Standing: while greeting and servicing guests and completing cleaning tasks Lifting: to put stock away and complete cleaning tasks 15 pounds Pulling: to open doors Pushing: to close doors Seeing: to process sales transactions, to obtain information from written material Stooping: to retrieve stock from lower levels Crouching: to retrieve stock from lower levels
COGNITIVE CONSIDERATIONS Must have the ability to read, write and organize material. Math skills necessary to process sales transactions. Must be able to relate to others in a professional manner. Candidate must be able to communicate well and professionally both verbally and in written form with many different types of personalities
There are full and part time positions available at this time. This is a hourly, non-exempt position. The ideal candidate will be willing to work a flexible schedule including but not limited to nights, weekends and holidays, as we are open 365 days a year.
